Loki, the Asgardian God of Mischief, persuaded the goliath Hulk to damage a rail line with the goal of inciting a conflict with his brother Thor, the God of Thunder.
Rick Jones and his Teen Brigade sought to radio The Fantastic Four for help, but Loki relayed the message to Thor instead.
Thor did not fall for the trick and informed the Other superheroes including the Wasp, Ant-Man, and Iron Man of Loki’s scheme.
Thor pursued Loki and worked together with the other heroes to defeat him. Their victory against Loki led them to realize that they needed to come together and form a group to continue their fight.
When Earth’s Mightiest Heroes teamed up together, the Wasp recommended the title “The Avengers.” As spies and regular companions to the Avengers throughout their formative years, Rick Jones and the Teen Brigade served as a vital part of the team.
During their first assignment, the newly formed group met in Tony Stark’s New York City mansion to plan the next step in their journey. The Maria Stark Foundation was set up in honour of Stark’s late mother. The foundation was used as a front to raise funds for the Avengers expenses.
A charter was also established to be used to direct the Avengers’ operations. Because of his long-term dependability, Edward Jarvis, the loyal butler of the Stark family, became a trusted staff member of the Avengers Mansion.

The Space Phantom, an extraterrestrial shapeshifter from Limbo who appeared as members of the Avengers and urged them to fight one another.
During the conflict, the Hulk decided that the Avengers were unable to trust his abilities and left the group.
The Avengers tried to resolve the departure of the Hulk, but he had teamed up with Namor, the angry Sub-Mariner as advisories to the Avengers.
An unidentified individual was located beneath the North Sea in a block of ice during the Avengers’ battle with Namor. It was revealed that since the conclusion of World War II, Captain America had been frozen in time in the ice.
After helping the Avengers beat Vuk, an alien convict on Earth, and Namor for the second time, Captain America decided to join the Avengers.
Captain America was granted “founding member” status as a replacement for Hulk.
The Avengers fought enemies like the Lava Men, the Mole Man, Count Nefaria, and the Kallusians. The team also reunited with The Fantastic Four in a continued effort against the Hulk and Mole Man.
The Wasp allowed Iron Man and Giant-Man (Pym’s alter ego alongside Ant-Man) to take a break after the fights with Kang and the Masters of Evil.
As a skilled marksman who had previously vanquished Iron Man, Hawkeye set out to get revenge for the death of his partner, Black Widow. As a result of his victory against Jarvis, Hawkeye was welcomed into the Avengers as a replacement.
The twin mutants Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch were also brought to the attention of the Avengers. After being forced to join Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch sought an alternate route and joined the New Avengers.
During Captain America’s homecoming, the public grew more familiar with the new organization that featured him as leader.

As a group of superheroes, they were known as the Avengers. The purpose of the meeting was to defend world stability from both internal and external dangers, although the United States of America was the primary focus.
The MCU Avengers Movies
In response to the events of Loki invading Earth with his Chitauri army, S.H.I.E.L.D. assembled a team of heroes known as the Avengers to combat the threat.
In the wake of their triumph against Loki, a tiny band of Avengers ; Iron Man , Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and the Hulk went their separate ways.
When HYDRA infiltrated the S.H.I.E.L.D. agency, the team was no longer a part of the American government. Stark Industries renamed Stark Tower “Avengers Tower,” and the Avengers formed a coalition to combat HYDRA.
Stark anticipated that the Avengers would be unable to deal with any dangers that arose as a result of their victory, so he built Ultron to take their place. As a result of Ultron’s declaration of war on mankind, the Avengers had no choice but to engage him.
The United Nations passed the Sokovia Accords in an effort to oversee the organization’s actions, thereby changing the group from a private to an administration-controlled entity.
Due to their differing political views, the Avengers were split into two groups, one headed by Iron Man and the other by Captain America. When Captain America lost Helmut Zemo, the team broke up.
It would be imperative for Stark to invite Spider-Man to join the Avengers in order to bolster the group’s resolve, but the juvenile hero would turn it down.
Later, the Titan Thanos launched a crusade in his quest to gather the Infinity Stones.
The Avengers re-joined forces to take on the Black Order as they invaded Earth on Thanos’ command.
The Avengers were joined by the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the Wakandans, and the Guardians of the Galaxy in the battle against Thanos.
Thanos overpowered the heroes on Wakanda and killed Vision to acquire the Mind Stone.
With the Mind Stone, Thanos had the complete Infinity Gauntlet, and was able to eradicate half of the population in the universe with a snap of his fingers.
Five years after the Thanos Snap, Ant-Man escaped the Quantum Realm and offered the Avengers a chance to use time travel to undo the events.
The Avengers travelled to alternate timelines to collect the six Infinity Stones in a Time Heist to thwart Thanos’ plan.
Thanos and his army had followed the heroes back, sparking the Battle of Earth, where Iron Man was sacrificed to defeat Thanos and his army.
